If you have lost all of the keys to your Lexus or Toyota, most likely the dealership has told you that they will have to replace the computer in order to get you a new set of keys. They also probably told you that the cost would be upwards of $2,500. A year ago, I would say that you had no other choice. However, technological advances now allow us to re-flash the existing computer (Engine Control Module) and have you back on the road for LESS THAN HALF the cost the dealership was going to charge you.
To take advantage of this service, all you have to do is send us the Engine Control Module (ECM) along with the passenger or driver side door lock and we will re-flash the ECM and cut two (2) non remote head keys to fit your vehicle.
Check our list of vehicles to see if your vehicle can be re-flashed.
Key Cloning is a technology that allows us to copy the electronic signal from an original transponder key that is programmed into your automobile and transfer that information onto a duplicated key. This “CLONED” key will operate your vehicle just as the original did.
This technology allows us to provide you with a second or third key without having to reprogram the vehicle.
Not all keys to all vehicles can be CLONED. Check to see if your vehicle is listed in the table below. If your vehicle is listed, we can clone your key.
You must provide us with an original working key in order to utilize this service.
A. Most factory remote head keys have been programmed into the vehicle as a master key.A black non-remote key is usually a master key. If your key is a non-remote key & it is dark gray, then it is a valet key.
The first way to verify if you have a master key, is to open the trunk or glove box with the key. If it locks or unlocks either, then it is probably a master key.
The second way to verify if your key is a master key, is to locate the blinking security light (it may be a blinking red light or a picture of a car and key) on the dash, instrument cluster, or the console.
The security light will be blinking as long as there is no key in the ignition.Insert your key into the ignition. DO NOT TURN THE KEY. Pay close attention to the blinking light. If the light goes out immediately, then the key is a master key. If the light stays on for 2 or more seconds, then it is a valet key.
If you have a master key, you will be able to program additional keys into your car. If you have a valet key, you cannot program additional keys into your car.
If you do not have a master key and want remote head keys for your car the Engine Control module (ECM) will have to be re-flashed. Please refer to the ECM re-flashing section or call our office at 866-350-4199 for more information.
If you do not have a master key and only want additional keys without any remote capabilities, please refer to the KEY CLONING section or call our office at 866-350-4199 for additional information.
